Virgin Atlantic launches new route to Varadero, Cuba

Over a third of Brits claim to be more interested in travel to Cuba now than they were two years ago according to new research by Virgin Holidays.

The demand has led in part to the launch of a new weekly direct flight from Gatwick Airport to Cuban beach hot-spot, Varadero.

The new route will transport approximately 28,000 additional Brits to Varadero annually, and Virgin Holidays is adding increased hotel capacity this year to cope with demand. Currently, almost half of existing holiday makers in Cuba land in Havana and make the two-hour journey via road to Varadero for its stunning beaches and resort style accommodation.
