1. Green Point & Waterfront (Chapter) Lonely Planet
Green Point’s common includes a new park and the Cape Town Stadium, built for the 2010 World Cup. Fronting Table Bay is the V&A Waterfront shopping, entertainment and residential development, commonly known simply as the Waterfront, as well as the residential Mouille Point.
2. City Bowl, Foreshore Bo-Kaap & De Waterkant (PDF Chapter)
The City Bowl and Foreshore is the commercial and historical heart of the city. Up the slopes of Signal Hill is the Bo-Kaap, an area of brightly painted houses, and to the northeast is De Waterkant, a chic party district.

Far from the bustle of the northern end of town, the Southern Peninsula is a world unto itself. Must see places are Muizenberg, Kalk Bay, Simon’s Town and Boulders, home to a colony of penguins. On the Atlantic side of the peninsula is quiet Noordhoek, famous for its wide, sandy beach, and the surfing mecca of Kommetjie.
Long popular with Cape Town’s Jewish, gay and Chinese communities, Sea Point sports numerous art deco apartment blocks, lending it an almost Miami Beach elegance. Moving south, you’ll find prime beach territory and Hout Bay, where the village atmosphere and handy location make it a good base for visitors.
