Spitfires, Hurricanes to mark Battle of Britain 'Hardest Day'

World War II aircraft including 18 Spitfires and six Hurricanes will fly over southeast England to mark the 75th anniversary of the "hardest day" of the Battle of Britain.

The planes will take off from the former RAF airfield at Biggin Hill, south of London, which came under attack from the Luftwaffe on August 18, 1940 as Germany attempted to gain air superiority in advance of a planned land invasion.
