Train to a Spanish city by the sea!

Almeria, Spain. Photo by Chris Raven ©
Almeria is a hidden gem! With beautiful colonial buildings, a fortress, a vibrant market and a city beach, this less visited southeast corner of Spain is a destination crying out to explored. Almeria has a rail and bus terminal right at its heart, which is a short walk in either direction to the beach or the commercial centre. For the adventurous, leap aboard a ferry to Morocco or the Spanish autonomous city of Melilla on the north African coast.
